Precision studies of strong gravity with X-ray reflection MUST consider the physics of the accretion disk.
And...great potential to learn about the disk from X-ray reflection
Recent progress in modeling X-ray reflection with finite thickness.
-Seeing hints of these effects at play in AGN and GBHB(Javier's talk).
Renewed need to understand ISCO region.
Probe of super-Eddington systems... funnel disks and radiation-driven outflows.

个人简介

Professor Chris Reynolds has broad interests in observational and theoretical high-energy astrophysics. Much of his current work centres on the astrophysics of black holes and the role that they play in the Universe, addressing three specific themes-- observational probes of relativistic physics close to black holes, theoretical studies of accretion disks, and theoretical studies of the influence that supermassive black holes have on galactic-scale structure formation. Research Themes: Cosmology and Fundamental Physics, Galaxies and Active Galactic Nuclei, X-ray Astrophysics.
